How your baby is growing this week
Pineapple size — 17.2 inches, 4.2 lbs. Receiving antibodies from mom's immune system through the placenta. Bones hardening everywhere except the skull (stays soft for delivery). Lungs almost mature.
What your partner is going through
Insomnia is brutal — can't get comfortable, baby is active at night, anxiety about delivery. Overheating from the metabolic furnace of growing a human. Core body temp runs 1-2 degrees higher.
What to focus on this week, dad
- 01Pet Ops: arrange a dog/cat sitter or boarding plan for the hospital stay. Your neighbor or friend needs the key, knows the feeding schedule, and is on standby from Week 36 onward
- 02Work handoff document: start writing it. Who covers your projects, where files live, key contacts, and deadlines. You need to be able to disappear for 2-4 weeks with zero notice
Connect with your partner
Keep the house cool — 68-70 degrees. She is running hot 24/7. If you are cold, put on a sweatshirt. Do not touch the thermostat.
