Our goal
We want every parent to be able to use The Dad Center, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, larger text or reduced motion. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on thedadcenter.com, and we hold our iOS and Android apps to the same goal.
Settings that help
- In the web app, Settings → Appearance has a text size control and a reduced-motion switch.
- Our animations follow your device's reduced-motion setting.
- Light, dark or system appearance, under Settings → Appearance.
What still needs work
We have not had an independent accessibility audit. Our own reviews found these gaps, which we are fixing in our current redesign:
- Some secondary text and buttons on the sign-in pages and in the signed-in web app don't yet meet WCAG contrast ratios.
- A few controls, such as some checkboxes in the tracker and budget, are smaller than recommended touch targets.
- Some article images use the article's title instead of a description as their alternative text.
Tell us about a problem
If something is hard to use, or you need information in another format, email info@thedadcenter.com. Tell us the page or screen and what happened, and we will get back to you.
