How your baby is growing this week
Lemon size — 2.9 inches. Vocal cords fully formed (silent for now). Fingerprints developed — completely unique. Intestines have moved from umbilical cord back into the abdomen.
What your partner is going through
Libido may return as nausea fades and blood flow increases. The "pregnancy glow" appears — increased blood volume + oil production = actually glowing skin. Energy slowly returning.
What to focus on this week, dad
- 01Daycare: if you didn't start the week-12 waitlist task, do it now. Quality centers in metro areas run 9-18 month waitlists. Tour at least 3, check state licensing, and ask about ratios and staff turnover
- 02If you had NIPT drawn at week 10, the results are back by now. Go through them together, and if anything is flagged, ask for a genetic counselor — a screen is not a diagnosis
Connect with your partner
Intimacy is changing. Her body feels different to her — more sensitive, sometimes uncomfortably so. Follow her lead on what feels good. Ask, do not assume.
