How your baby is growing this week
About the size of a bowling pin — roughly 15.7 inches, 3 lbs. Brain is wrinkling into the folds and grooves that store memory. Bone marrow now runs red blood cell production. Eyelids open and close, and the eyes can track a bright light through the belly wall.
What your partner is going through
Heartburn is severe — the uterus crowds the stomach and pushes acid up. Sleep now takes a fortress of pillows: one under the belly, one between the knees, one behind the back. Shortness of breath as the uterus presses the diaphragm. Feet and ankles swell by evening.
What to focus on this week, dad
- 01Register for ALL classes: childbirth prep, breastfeeding, infant CPR, newborn care
- 02Both parents should attend CPR at minimum — choking happens
