General
What is The Dad Center?
The Dad Center is the week-by-week pregnancy app for dads: a weekly briefing, the tasks that matter now, baby budget planning and partner sync, all in one place. It keeps going after the birth, and it works on iOS, Android and the web.
Who is this app for?
Primarily for expectant and new dads, but it works for the whole family. Moms get the same tools and content, with a few labels and tips adapted to their role. Whether you're 8 weeks in or 8 months postpartum, the app meets you where you are.
Can I use the app if I'm the mom?
Yes. We lead with a dad-first voice, but moms get the same tools and the same content, and a few labels and tips adapt to your role.
Is the medical information reviewed?
Not by a medical professional: The Dad Center has no medical reviewer. The founder, Ashirbad Ghosh, drafts the guides with AI tools, then edits them and checks them against sources such as ACOG and AAP guidance. It is general information, not medical advice, so check with your OB, midwife or pediatrician about your own situation.
Subscription & billing
How does the family subscription work?
One subscription covers you and your partner. You both share full Premium access on a single plan.
How much does it cost?
Monthly is $4.99/mo and Yearly is $39.99/yr ($3.33/mo, save 33%). First-time subscribers get their first 7 days free on either plan. Lifetime is $99.99, paid once, with no trial. Every plan gives both partners full access.
What do I get for free?
Free accounts get the tasks due in the next 30 days, the briefings within 4 weeks of your signup week, every tracker log (feeds, diapers, sleep, temperature, medicine, growth and milestones, appointments, plus the kick counter and contraction timer from week 28) with the last 7 days of history, partner sync and Home. Premium keeps your full tracker history. It's designed to feel complete, not crippled.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, any time. You keep Premium through the end of the period you've paid for, plus a short grace period, and your data stays safe on the free plan. A refund or a failed payment ends Premium sooner.
Do I need to pay to try it?
No. A free account includes the tasks due in the next 30 days, the briefings within 4 weeks of your signup week, every tracker log with 7 days of history, and Home, with no credit card required. If you upgrade and later cancel, you keep access through your billing period.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. First-time subscribers get their first 7 days of Premium free on the Monthly or Yearly plan, on the web, iOS and Android. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and has no trial. On the web a card is required to start, you won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then. On mobile, the App Store or Google Play decides who is eligible.
Features
What are weekly briefings?
Each week you get a short briefing: how the baby is developing, what your partner may be going through, a tip for the two of you, things to do this week and what's coming up, with practical, dad-specific guidance.
How does partner sync work?
Invite your partner with your family code. You both see the same tasks, and one person checking a task off updates it for both. When you create a task you can assign it to your partner or to both of you, and they get a push notification when it's added.
How do I invite my partner?
Open Settings > Family to copy or share your family code, or invite your partner by email. Your partner enters the code when they sign up.
What is the Budget Planner?
A phase-by-phase breakdown of what things typically cost, from prenatal vitamins to the daycare deposit. Most items show a best-value and a premium option, with typical price ranges.
What is the Dad Journey?
On the web, the Dad Journey has seven challenge pillars: Knowledge, Planning, Finances, Anxiety & Fear, Baby Bonding, Relationship, and Extended Family. Each has guided content to help you grow in that area. Some later-phase content is part of Premium.
Do I get push notifications?
Premium users get push notifications in the iOS and Android apps for must-do tasks due tomorrow, the weekly briefing and partner activity. Free accounts get them for the first 30 days after signup.
Privacy & data
How is my data handled?
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you and the partner you invite can see your family's details (your mood entries and dad profile stay private to you), and the services that run the app handle it only for us. We never sell your data, and your health details are never used for advertising or sent to ad platforms. Health details are collected only with your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings. Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain the details.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to More > Settings, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account. It deletes your account and your own data in one step (backups clear within 30 days) and cannot be undone. If your partner stays in the family, they keep the shared family data (baby details, tracker logs, tasks, budget, checklists, care team), and your own mood entries are deleted. If you're the only member, the family's data is deleted too. Web subscriptions are canceled automatically; subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are not, so cancel those in your store account settings to stop billing.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data stays safe. Cancelling Premium moves you to the free plan: you keep everything you've logged, but you see the free limits again (tasks due in the next 30 days, briefings within 4 weeks of your signup week, and 7 days of tracker history). Re-subscribe any time to unlock everything. The free trial isn't offered a second time.
