Daycare closed? Baby sick? Snow day? Have 2-3 backup options lined up: grandparent, trusted friend, emergency nanny service (Care.com). Don't figure this out the morning of — plan it now.

Decide who is authorized to pick up baby and give daycare that list on day one. Most daycares require photo ID from anyone picking up. Update the list immediately if it changes.
Ask your daycare about their communication method — app (Brightwheel, HiMama), daily sheet, or verbal updates. Know when and how you'll hear about feeds, naps, diapers, and milestones throughout the day.

Add 30 minutes to your commute for the first 2 weeks. Daycare drop-off, forgotten items, unexpected diaper changes, and parking lot emotions all eat time. You'll optimize the routine, but start with a buffer.
